Lead Custodial Supervisor

The Working Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for both supervising and actively participating in the daily cleaning and maintenance operations of 5 commercial office buildings in Brooklyn, NY 11201. This role includes leading a team of approximately 12+ janitorial staff, ensuring that cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard, while also performing cleaning duties alongside the team.**MUST SPEAK ENGLISH & SPANISH** Key Responsibilities: • Team Management:Supervise and support a team of 12+ janitorial employees, providing hands-on guidance and training as needed. • Supervisor:Participate when required in daily cleaning tasks, including but not limited to trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and floor care. May need to cover other staff members from time to time. • Quality Control:Regularly inspect the facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are being met, addressing any deficiencies by either directing the team or handling tasks directly. Pictures must be taken daily and submitted via phone application software. • Supply Management:Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure that all needed materials are available. • Safety & Compliance:Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring that all cleaning activities are performed in compliance with regulations, including the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). • Training & Development:Provide training to new and existing janitorial staff on cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures. • Payroll Reporting:Track associates hours and report the payroll 1x per week. • Staffing Skills:Must be a source of people for coverage purposes. Qualifications: • Experience:5+ years of janitorial or custodial experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Previous experience working in a commercial office building setting is preferred. • Skills:Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and work alongside a team. Must have a solid understanding of commercial cleaning practices, including floor care and the use of industrial cleaning equipment. • Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, management, and tenants. • Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects (Up to 50 lbs.) as needed. • Availability:Must be available to work nights, Monday - Friday.
