Job Description

L5 Acceleration Services is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to help build a new marketing tool to expand our business and become an integral part of the creation of our other data services. We are looking for a thought leader, eager to grow in this space, with strong data engineering skills and data architecture experience. This person must be located in Atlanta, GA, be willing to relocate there, or be willing to travel to Atlanta frequently.

L5 Acceleration Services is our operational division of Level 5 Capital and works with our portfolio companies to grow and scale the business from franchise development services, real estate services, new store opening services, and franchise operation services

What You’ll Bring:


  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, data sets and architecture.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role
  • Bachelors/Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field preferred.
  • Advanced working SQL or Python knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience with various APIs, workflow management tools, and object-oriented/object-function scripting languages


 

Expectations


  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,
  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, designing infrastructure for scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of

data from a wide variety of data sources.

  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into

customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.

  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Marketing, Finance and Real Estate teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data

infrastructure needs.
