JOB TITLE:
Lead Data Engineer

POSITION DUTIES:
Lead execution of software development projects in an agile development environment. Provide
Data Modeling expertise by authoring Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation
Language (DML) SQL spanning technical stacks, and serve as Data Transformation expert
(joins, cleansing, derivations, etc.). Engage in the delivery of compiling and installing database
systems, ingesting relational databases, integrating data from a variety of data sources utilizing
on-prem or cloud-based data structures. Troubleshoot and create automation tools. Lead and
mentor 2-4 direct reports (data engineers). Serve as a liaison between the stakeholders and
provide insight into potential innovations and solutions. Utilize: DDL, DML, SQL, AWS,
Cloudera, Snowflake, Databricks, Python, Hadoop, Java, Spark, Scala, Streamsets, Sqoop,
Pipewrench, and NiFi. May require occasional travel to unanticipated client sites throughout the
United States. Position may include a telecommuting benefit from anywhere in the United States.

REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field and three (3) years of
experience in data analysis (any title) including handling large data repositories of critical
significance; engaging in data migration and programming; developing SQL scripts to upload,
retrieve, and handle sensitive data; connecting databases using Python scripts; redesigning legacy
processes; monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs); and utilizing SQL server, Snowflake,
Databricks, Python, PySpark, Teradata, Hyperion, Nebula, and Quicksight. May require
occasional travel to unanticipated client sites throughout the United States. Position may include
a telecommuting benefit from anywhere in the United States.
