Summary We are seeking a Day Porter Lead Janitor is responsible for overseeing daily custodial operations to ensure that facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position serves as the team leader for the janitorial staff, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, and performing hands-on cleaning duties. The Lead Janitor ensures that all work meets established standards and complies with safety protocols Responsibilities. • Supervise and coordinate janitorial staff and daily cleaning schedules • Inspect work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with standards • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal • Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and kitchens • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, buffers) • Train and mentor new janitorial employees • Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed • Report maintenance issues or facility damage to management • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and safety procedures • Assist with special projects and events as assigned Requirements • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and staff. • Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus.
