About the roleÂ
-
Lead and develop new product concepts and ideas from a blank sheet of paper.
-
Produce working concepts for reviews with the use of handmade or prototype parts.
-
Take an active role in defining design specifications for a given concept.
-
Produce mechanical designs across a range of device types and technologies to deliver proof of concept performance
-
Role-model presentation and communication best practice during project reviews.
-
Define plans, monitor progress and report on technical risks.
-
Challenge and develop Dyson engineering practices to continuously improve design quality.
-
Take an active, hands-on role to ensure that all engineering problems are resolved thoroughlyÂ
-
Analyse test results, summarise and communicate these with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
-
Manage and lead others to achieve common goals a part of a teamÂ
-
Develop detailed specifications and design requirements for interdependent systemsÂ
-
Identify and design test requirements to replicate anticipated usage and optimise products to be robust and high performing.
-
Manage the building of functional prototype products suitable for testing, review and demonstrationÂ
-
Perform and review analysis on test failures and develop efficient solutionsÂ
About youÂ
-
Extensive experience working in true innovation phases of product development projects
-
A degree in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline or equivalentÂ
-
7 years of experience in a relevant role, working on complex and challenging concepts
-
A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processesÂ
-
Proven examples of developing a technically challenging design through leadership of othersÂ
-
Experience working in a 3D CAD design environment.Â
-
The skills to communicate your ideas to others within your team and across a businessÂ
-
A demonstrable desire to constantly improve yourself including evidence of self-developmentÂ
