National Grid is hiring an AMI Lead Field Deployment Program Manager in to support the deployment of our AMI program across our Massachusetts service territory. The role will directly support the project management of all network deployment activities in MA, which include a variety of system and field responsibilities across Massachusetts.
This position is a hybrid remote role and will be located in Massachusetts (Waltham, Northboro, or Boston), with approximately 25% of the time spent in the field or traveling.

Job Purpose
We are the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Field Deployment Group at National Grid.
The Lead Field Deployment Program Manager position is a critical role in coordinating this effort and it is a great opportunity to join an exciting program, at the heart of modernizing meter technology. AMI is a foundational technology to enable our clean energy future and reimagine how customer's will engage energy management in the future.
The Meter and Field Deployment team is responsible for deploying 1.4 million smart meters to National Grid's Massachusetts customers. We are committed to exceeding the expectations of our customers, shareholders, and communities today, while delivering the energy systems of tomorrow.
Key Accountabilities
Manage and coordination the cross functional field facing requirements critical to the install of an AMI field area network across MA.• Partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to assure field facing requirements are completed in advance of meter deployment.• Manage the holistic deployment strategy of assets and field project schedule, to assure performance objectives are delivered in a cost-effective manner• Support the resolution of trouble tickets related to non-communicating field devices or hard to access devices• Support the resolution of unforeseen field related concerns and mitigate risk• Support logistics related to field area network optimization• Monitor and manage field validation, end-point acceptance, and asset/process defects• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.• Support the needs of resource coordination/resource planning• Capturing and communicating lessons learned ( e.g. mitigating future risk, impact to training)• Support with internal project-related inquiries related to FAN & Meter installationFlexibility to work remotely and with a team across National Grid
Qualifications• A Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of Field Operations and Project Management experience• Demonstrated project management experience on large-scale programs preferred• Experience coordinating cross-functional resources and a diverse group of stakeholders• Ability to build and maintain project wide metrics to be shared with leadership• Ability to anticipate and resolve barriers proactively• Able to think commercially and identify novel ways of working• Effective stakeholder relationship management skills• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing conditions leveraging Agile methodologies.• Ability to work in virtual teams
