Position Summary
For over 80 years, we've set the precedent that a pet food company has a greater duty than just feeding pets. As the Corporate Public Relations Lead, you will serve as a key member of the external communications group to primarily support and help manage proactive communications for Nestle Purina's network of 22 pet food and litter factories across the U.S.
• Form and maintain cross-functional relationships within Corporate PR and the broader organization• Develop strategy, plans, and programs to generate exposure for assigned business units• Plan and execute public relations activities and events, managing relationships with outside agencies and vendors• Build and nurture relationships with key media contacts and community stakeholders• Write stories and media materials to support efforts of our factories and corporate brand• Work in partnership with agency and internal designers for content/asset creation for earned, paid, and social media usage• Set goals and evaluate publicity efforts/programs for effectiveness and impact on the Nestle Purina brand and company• Oversee budget of assigned public relations programs in partnership with marketing• Support issue/crisis communication teams, when necessary, with potential for growth in reputation management
Requirements• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, public relations, or related field of study• 5 years of experience managing proactive communication efforts for companies and/or consumer products• 1+ year(s) of experience in managing local and national public relations programs with track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs• 1+ year (s) of experience in event planning and execution (or desire to learn/develop in this area)• Ability to travel domestically 1-2 times/month on average
