Responsibilities Serve as team leader for assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. • Participate in the process of monitoring, guiding and evaluating staff performance. • Contribute to efficient operations by assisting with coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow and promoting decision-making and problem solving. • Perform the duties of a security officer. • Model and promote teamwork and cooperation amongst staff. Review staff reports for accuracy, clarity and completeness. • Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards. Address escalated or unresolved issues. • Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and Committee Chair responsibilities. • Operate vehicle in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. Provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participates in foot and vehicle patrols. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: • Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. • Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit preferred. Education: • High School diploma equivalency and 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree and 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
