Lead / Senior Full Stack Engineer

SUMMARY:

As a Lead / Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our web applications. This role requires a deep understanding of our tech stack and the ability to create effective solutions that align with business requirements. You will play a crucial role in advancing our technology stack and mentoring junior team members.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

• Leading the development of robust web applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and SQL (ideally PostgreSQL).
• Designing and implementing scalable and efficient API routes and backend services.
• Writing and maintaining comprehensive unit and integration tests with Cypress and Postman.
• Utilizing advanced AWS services, including Lambda functions and Step Functions.
• Working with message brokers and event-driven architectures using EventBridge and SQS.
• Managing and optimising databases, with a focus on Neo4j graph databases.
• Implementing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Containerising applications using Docker and orchestrating deployments.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features.
• Mentoring junior developers and promoting best practices within the team.
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Minimum of 6 years in web development with a strong track record in senior roles.
• Expertise in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and SQL databases.
• Proficient in building and integrating complex API routes.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, including Lambda functions, Step Functions, EventBridge, and SQS.
• Strong experience with Neo4j
• Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Advanced skills in writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using Cypress and Postman.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile development environments.

AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED: 

• Experience with other message brokers or event-driven systems.
• Additional expertise in other AWS services.
• Familiarity with other infrastructure as code tools.
