Lead Software Architect

DUTIES: BorgWarner Transmission Products, LLC seeks a Lead Software Architect based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position does not require travel.

Responsible for all technical aspects of the software architectural design for our drivetrain electronic controls systems such as AWD products. Work in conjunction with cross functional teams providing technical leadership and engineering guidance to support the execution of software development including: requirement analysis, architecture design, requirement decomposition, requirement allocation and software integration. Responsible for coordinating architectural designs across multiple customer projects to drive consistency and commonality promoting flexibility, quality, robustness and reuse. Utilizing their technical expertise, they will specify and guide the team in software development utilizing a combination of Model based design, autocode generation, and embedded c programming. Follow the BorgWarner software development process which complies to Automotive SPICE. Work along with other BorgWarner engineers to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained, and problems encountered during the development process are satisfactorily resolved.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field of study and 12 years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: experience with engineering field in embedded software and controls; experience with SW Architecture Specification and Modeling; experience with technical team leadership; experience with 32bit multicore microcontroller architecture; experience with logical block definition, boundaries, execution rates, scheduling, interfaces, data types, allocation of requirements to logical blocks, integration, and verification of architecture; experience with model based development tools; experience with c programming language; experience with software configuration, release, and change management; and experience with ASPICE software development process.
