Role Overview:

As Teachstone continues to grow, we are seeking a talented Lead Software Developer to join our team and be part of the driving force behind our mission to create life-changing interactions between teachers and children.

As a skilled engineering leader, you will guide the team to architect, design, and implement software solutions. You will be a great fit if:

Role Responsibilities:

• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Lead and mentor a team of software developers to design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using Ruby on Rails for the backend and React for the frontend.
• Drive technical architecture and implementation.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Look for opportunities to improve Teachstone’s offerings through innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve software development processes and tools.

Role Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a team lead or similar role.
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with full-stack development.

Role Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with education technology or mission-driven companies.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Jest) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
