Who we're looking for
We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to be part of a mission critical team, building Demand Planning applications critical to Nike's end-to-end Planning and Supply Chain strategy.
The Lead Software Engineer serves as a technical guide for the software engineering team.
What you'll do
You will support key platforms across Demand Planning providing functionality to sense, forecast, and shape demand. The squad you support will own full stack applications to deliver value to our partners. You will build data centric user experiences, cloud based distributed systems in AWS, microservices, data pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Who you are
- You have a quality-focused demeanor and are involved in all parts of software development: conceptualization, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, experimentation, and iteration

- Effective at building strong, influential relationships with colleagues and partners, with proven success in delivering impactful insights to leadership, and inspire change using DevOps practices
- Designing and implementing highly scalable cloud-based applications from end-to-end, from infrastructure to the frontend, using modern architecture and practices
- You have 8+ years software development experience, 3+ years leading mixed team composed of data and full stack engineers
- You are passionate about teamwork and collaboration while coaching and mentoring software developers to deliver timely, high-quality software with a solid understanding of Scrum and Agile principles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant subject area is required or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
- Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda, ELB, Postgres and Dynamodb
- Experience in micro service architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, Python
- Exposure to GraphQL API implementations
- Experience working with NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB
- Experience working with relational data stores like MySQL and Oracle
- Experience with monitoring and tracing tools like Splunk, SignalFx, or New Relic
- Experience with continuous integration (CI), unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests (continuous delivery (CD) experience is preferred)
- Exposure to any enterprise packages like SAP Advance Planning & Optimization (APO), o9 Supply Chain Management, Blue Yonder Luminate Planning, or others including custom / proprietary Planning solutions.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile principles is desired.
- Comfortable working with globally distributed and diverse teams.
