Job Summary
As an experienced technical team member of our Software Engineering Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, design and architecture as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. You'll work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment-one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally. This role also requires a forward-thinking passion for adopting new technologies and approaches while remaining vigilantly focused on technical strength and maximum availability.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Java or Python and JavaScript to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
  • Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality
  • Build UI using React , write test cases and deploy
  • Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones
  • Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team
  • Handle critical and time sensitive concurrent tasks with supervision and properly escalate situations as appropriate

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
  • 5+ years of hands on experience as a software engineer with focus on customer facing journeys and modern agile software delivery practices such as Scrum, CI/CD Jules and DDD, DevOps , Gherkins, Automated Functional Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile tools e.g., JIRA
  • Experience in UI development with experience in React or Angular, TypeScript, CSS, Micro FrontEnd Development, JavaScript, Mock frameworks as well as US ADA, Section 508, and W3C WCAG 2.1 standards
  • Knowledge of Public or Private cloud based environments
  • Hands on experience with User Acceptance testing and identifying issues including accessibility testing with related assistive technology knowledge and experience with tools like JAWS, NVDA, and/or Window Eyes screen readers
  • Well-versed in accessibility knowledge for UI development (common electronic communication accessibility barriers) to help people with hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, and vision disabilities
  • Comprehensive accessibility testing experience per WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA Success Criteria Strong proponent of reusable UI components and able to design testable solutions to integrate with a dynamic code base

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices and experience mentoring teams to adopt new technologies
  • Automation experience with Cucumber / Automated Functional Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile tools e.g., JIRA
  • Passionate to experiment with new ideas and comfortable with failure as part of a collaborative/empowered team working towards organizational goals, and eager to build an innovative culture
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, and the ability to present ideas, thoughts, and information clearly; critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
