Job Description
Job Title: Lead Software Engineer (multiple positions)
Location: Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
- Specializes in full-stack development and design architecture on modern cloud-based infrastructure using AWS Services such as CloudWatch for monitoring, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2 (5%).
- Specializes in full-stack architecture design on modern cloud-based infrastructure using AWS Services such as CloudWatch for monitoring, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2 (10%).
- Introduce to new ideas and develop products that empower our users (2%). Responsible for implementing and Supporting Morningstar's Products and internal applications (3%).
- Translate project needs into working code and communicate them to others on Morningstar's international development team while creating final products (3%).
- Breakdown the Tech implementation task for new product development (5%). Interact daily with our product managers to understand our domain and create technical solutions (5%).
- Develop solutions for User specific utilization metrics for the Morningstar applications using Google Analytics (2%).
- Providing solutions to develop the Web API (Rest API) backend services using technologies .netCore, .net Web API Services, NodeJS and Typescript (10%).
- Implementing Web API (Rest API) for backend services using C#, .netCore and .net Web API services hosted in AWS Cloud Platform (10%).
- Managing Project Progress and reviewing the scope for the various projects and initiatives (5%).
- Lead and manage application development of Morningstar's web-based, institutional platform (10%).
- The position includes the development of new systems and maintenance and improvement of existing applications (5%).
- A candidate will work with team members across disciplines developing products for multiple personas including wealth managers and independent advisors (5%).
- Responsible for the Technology strategy selection/implementation decisions (5%).
- Implement POC and perform pre research task new Product development (10%).
- Mentoring the junior team member (5%).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of relevant engineering experience in the position of Sr. Software Eng., App. Development Team Lead, App. Developer Sr. Analyst, App. Developer Analyst, and Associate App. Developer.
This position also requires:
- 5 years of experience with enterprise software concerns such as security, scalability, transaction management, and concurrency;
- 5 years of experience with C# development;
- 3 years of experience with architecting AWS solutions;
- 1 year of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Ember or Vue;
- 1 year of experience with DevOps with tools like Jenkins and UDeploy; and 1 year of experience with Typescript development based on Nuxtjs/Nestjs.
