As a Lead Engineer on the Partner and Marketplace Engineering team, you'll bring a passion for building highly robust software systems which connect our customers and partners to our product at an unprecedented scale, across all of Nike's brands, categories and geographies. You'll bring not only deep technical skills, but also the ability to coordinate technical standards and processes. Your experience will encompass a full stack development environment, from backend services to front end web presentation. You'll have both the strong desire, and ability to, contribute code on the projects you lead, writing code at least 80% of your time. Additionally, you'll help to mentor and grow the software engineers on the team and contribute to technical direction and strategy!

Duties:
  • Lead feature/solution delivery with diverse team members, work as mentor for junior team members
  • Deliver solutions using scalable, resilient, cloud-native patterns
  • Develop/enhance tools and frameworks to improve the security, reliability, and maintainability of our cloud container platform, good understanding of distributed systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on continuous delivery patterns and software-defined infrastructure in a DevOps and micro-services focused organization
  • Deliver well-documented and well-tested code, and participate in peer code reviews
  • Lead the design and development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural and quality standards
  • Independently identifies, defines, directs, and/or performs analysis to resolve complex issues
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers including providing daily guidance, setting coding standards, and reviewing code

Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field or combination of relevant professional experience, education, and training
  • 6+ years of diverse experience in deployments/developments in the public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred: EC2, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, ASG, ELB, Security groups etc.)
  • Diverse and deep experience in Java/Scala development and data management, Template technologies, micro- services, REST Web Services
  • Advanced working knowledge of RDS databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres as well as experience with NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra and DynamoDB
  • Experience working in a large-scale agile environment
  • Knowledge of various continuous delivery patterns
  • Experience with DevOps practices required
  • Experience with source control
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Nice to have: Experience with New Relic, SignalFx, and Splunk

*Remote Work Option - Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,000 to $285,000. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
