As a Lead Software Quality Engineer for Wolters Kluwer, you will be responsible for applying knowledge of ETL testing concepts to build test suites according to published specifications to ensure all tax data moves correctly from one tax product to another.
 
Activities include learning ETL and Tax conversion process, working on process optimization and creating data for simple or complex Tax features.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and prepare/develop test strategy and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts
· Having very good understanding and experience of data model, ETL architecture and ETL testing concepts
· Perform data quality checks, data profiling and data cleansing to identify and resolve data discrepancies
· Analyze source data and look for data quality issues throughout the ETL testing process
· Responsible for creating high level, mid-level and low level planning for team. Should be able to enhance existing ETL testing process and strive towards improvement
· Define test scope & execution plans and coordinate with team on testing activities
· Work closely with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data validation strategies and best practices
· Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on complex test scenarios and analyze business requirements independently
· Must be able to identify and document data validation processes, testing methodologies, results and quality risks
· Publish meaningful metrics on data quality and validations
· Analyze and review test results and documents for consistency and accuracy
· Ability to interpret situations and recognize where change and flexibility is required
· Under direction of an analyst, you will have to develop and manipulate QA data in the form of tax returns within tax software adequate to validate all features of the tax return conversion program
· Should attain test accuracy of data and its completeness. Identify key ETL mapping scenarios
· Identify program deficiencies. Effectively document deficiency and correction to the analyst and development team via Azure DevOps. Validate corrections “bugs”, update documentation and test cases
· Review detailed customer-facing documentation to assure it correctly communicates scope and behaviour of each conversion feature
· Desire to improve testing process and should have ability to drive changes in existing processes. Should have patience to understand current software, data structure and process of test data creation and validations
· Develop mapping specifications from source to target system for ETL testing
· Adhere to organization's coding standards and best practices
· Conduct code reviews and create technical solution document, wherever required
. Excellent investigative skills to find root cause for ETL problems
. Good understanding on database operations and SQL queries. Should be able to write complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Views, etc. to interact with database
Good to have:
· Knowledge on US Income tax system (forms, tax elements, tax software, tax rollover process, etc.) is a big plus
. Experience on working with C#, Visual Studio and MS Azure DevOps would be a plus
. Software development experience (coding/programming) is not mandatory but would be a bonus
· Understanding on preparing US income tax returns (Example:- 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120s, and/or 990) is good to have 
Experience:
· At least 6+ years of experience on ETL testing concepts. Should have very good understanding on ELT testing 
. Should have experience in leading and developing a team
· Organized and detail-oriented
· Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Highly adept working in a decentralized/remote team environment
· Comfortable learning and using proprietary tools
· Proficient with MS Excel, MS Teams and MS Outlook
. Database interaction through SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Views, etc.
· Good in analytical skills and problem solving using combination of test data
