Role Overview

Green Dot Corporation is seeking a Lead Web Engineer to join the Consumer Engineering Team focusing on building scalable secure and high-performance web applications that support our financial technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop enterprise-grade web applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native technologies.

• Lead the design and implementation of modular white-labeled and localized web solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Design Mobile and Backend Engineering to deliver seamless user experiences.

• Drive technical initiatives to improve performance maintainability and scalability of web platforms.

• Implement observability and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and user satisfaction.

• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices across the web domain.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with compliance security and accessibility standards.

• Operate in an AI-driven SDLC environment leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of web development experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.

• Expert-level proficiency in React Angular framework.

• Experience with Azure Cloud including Azure Functions Blob Storage and Service Bus .

• Experience with Azure/AWS Cloud services

• Experience in containerizing web applications using technologies like Docker and AKS to ensure scalable portable and efficient deployment across environments.

• Experience with SQL Server PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB .

• Strong understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG and ARIA and be able to implement inclusive design practices to ensure web applications are usable by people of all abilities.

• Experience in implementing and managing Datadog dashboards monitors and alerts for web applications.

• Proficiency in RESTful API design OAuth2 and microservices architecture.

• Experience with automated testing unit testing TDD and CI/CD pipelines.

• Development Tools: VS Code Postman Azure DevOps Git Jira Confluence Figma.

• Strong grasp of web security encryption standards and privacy compliance.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with AI-enhanced workflows.

• Strong Communication Skill

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or consumer-facing web platforms.

• Familiarity with operational domains such as payments identity verification and customer onboarding.

• Contributions to open-source web libraries or technical publications.

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $97100 to $145500 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications expertise and the candidate’s geographical location.
