We’re hiring for a Legal Counsel as part of dentsu in Madrid.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

• Provides legal advice to stakeholders at various levels of the organisation on relevant subjects to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and the protection of Dentsu’s commercial interests

• Drafts, negotiates and advises on commercial and creativity agreements both with clients and providers (f.e. content creators, talents)

• Delivers adequate legal support (templates, advice, risk management, subject matter knowledge) to accelerate and underpin the expansion of company strategy and its clients’ network

• Provides legal support on various matters to commercial and creative teams in contractual negotiations to achieve the most advantageous and/or beneficial legal and commercial terms for Dentsu

• Assists in developing and delivering training and legal risk management initiatives to senior management in managing legal risks (e.g. business training, legal updates, etc)

• Helps to implement best-practices in compliance, contracts management, intellectual property, data protection, advertising, IT, litigation and/or M&A (having regard to the Legal Counsel’s specialist area)

• Assists with delivering cost-effective handling of existing litigation and disputes to protect Dentsu’s best interests, including timely and accurate reporting.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years post-qualification experience, with experience in Intellectual Property and audiovisual and some law firm experience.

• Local country qualification to practice law (Spanish lawyer).

• Proven experience in working on and managing complex and large-scale contracts or transactions.

• Experience and knowledge of key legal principles in specialist areas of law: Intellectual Property, audiovisual, advertising, AI, IT law, and data focused on technology solutions.

• Some experience in risk management including compliance programs, including drafting of policies and procedures and training.

• Experience in advertising regulations and regulated (sensitive) sectors legislation will be a plus.

• Good knowledge of corporate governance.

• Proficiency in English language and solid skills working with English.
