Legal Counsel

Who You Are

TabaPay is seeking a commercial attorney with experience in the financial services and payments domains. We are looking for an individual to uphold TabaPay’s vision through legal and compliance expertise and strategic advice. As Legal Counsel, you will work directly with our General Counsel and our Compliance and Account Management teams to manage risk, identify opportunities, and deliver on TabaPay’s offering of exceptional products and services.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with sales and account management to help manage, negotiate and revise commercial contracts 
• Manage across multiple verticals all documentation required to apply for, obtain and manage money transmitter licenses for all U.S. States
• Manage documentation required to apply for, obtain and manage brokerage licenses
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives to help us increase the efficacy and efficiency of our business
• Provide legal expertise in support of compliance and privacy teams
• Manage DocuSign execution and cloud storage of contracts

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school 
• Membership in at least one U.S. State Bar, with good standing
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm or a fast-paced technology, financial services, banking, payments, brokerage or other fintech company
• Professional experience drafting, revising and negotiating commercial agreements

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of relevant work experience in a top law firm or fintech company
• Prior experience working directly with money transmitter processes and protocols across all U.S. States

The pay range for this position is $170,000-$200,000 for base pay; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits as listed below, dependent on the position offered.

This position is a hybrid position and must be able to commute to our Mountain View office at least 2 days a week.
