The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, particularly in low voltage applications. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various low voltage systems, including security, fire alarms, and telecommunications. The technician will work on construction sites and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards. Duties • Install and maintain low voltage systems such as security alarms, fire alarms, and telecommunications equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine installation requirements. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations and repairs. • Conduct tests using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic tools to ensure system functionality. • Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems. • Follow NEC guidelines to ensure all work is compliant with safety regulations. • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with installations. Requirements • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role in electrical work. • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus. • Experience as an industrial or commercial electrician is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of electrical principles and practices, including high voltage systems. • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. • Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Previous maintenance person experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
