Local Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of freight including refrigerated trailers and dump trucks. Duties • Operate a variety of vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, and dump trucks. • Load and unload freight as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. • Follow designated routes for timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition. • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations. • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients. Qualifications • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (Tanker endorsement preferred). • Proven experience in truck driving or as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of route driving. • Ability to operate various types of freight vehicles safely and efficiently. • Experience with loading and unloading freight, including the use of pallet jacks or forklifts. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. • Good communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
