Job Description

• Under general supervision, perform physical locksmith services including installation and maintenance of registered locks and associated keys; coring/re-coring of locks, combinating or re-combinating cores and cutting replacement keys for all types of locks including vehicles, opening of locked areas due to loss of keys or damage for all AF/NAVY/NASA areas on CCAFS and PAFB.
• Work from verbal information, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and applicable national, state and municipal specifications, codes and ordinances.
• Respond to telephone calls regarding problems/orders.
• Maintenance of locking devices, installation, planning and coding new systems, safe vault combinations and deactivations.
• Perform work in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA, and Space Force laws, regulations and requirements, energy management conservation regulations, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.
• Maintain logs, records, charts, etc. as required.
• Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc. required for the performance of assigned tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years' experiencein all phases of locksmith field.
• Familiarity with repair, maintenance and opening of GSA security containers and interchangeable core type locks.
• Must possess or be able to obtain GSA Certification within 12 months.
• Must be proficient in the installation and repair of all types of commercial and industrial door hardware.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. MAXIMO experience a plus.
• Valid FL Driver License required.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• US Citizenship is necessary for obtaining a security clearance.

WORK ENVIORNMENT:

Office work and field work required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job may require long periods of standing as well as lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders > 6' and work at heights. Must be capable of safely working at heights and able to operate man-lifts and other equipment. Must be capable of operating machinery and vehicles.
