Governance and Experience team of e-commerce are responsible for ensuring the safety and trustworth of the marketplace for not only our users, but also sellers and creators. We value our users' satisfaction by working on policies, rules and systems to ensure the quality. We are looking for an algorithm technical manager who is obsessed with customer experience and passionate about building systems to detect various risks that can sabotage platform trust.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Turn your ambitions into reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12-24 weeks and begins in May/June 2025 or August/September 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following start dates below:

Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in ByteDance's technical online assessment through HackerRank.

Responsibilities:
- Work with a team to design and implement algorithms to detect and control risks/frauds in contents/products/sellers/creators;
- Collaborate with strategy team, product managers, policy team and ops team to help define products and drive initiatives from engineering viewpoints

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
-Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply!
- Final year or recent graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment;
- An understanding or keen interest in machine learning, NLP, or computer vision;
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Java.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest or experience in anti-fraud, anti-spam, platform-integrity, or similar fields would be a cherry on top;
- A profound sense of responsibility, coupled with exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
