Machine Operator

Genera – Houston Innovation Center Summary of Essential Job Functions: • Operate custom heated forming press for fiber packaging. • Effectively check the quality of the products to ensure they meet certain specifications including weight and visual appearance. • Operate the supporting equipment including pumps and mixers. • Follow specific operational instructions, be able to maintain accurate records, and be able to effectively communicate observations of the machine and the products that are produced. • Responsible for operating and maintaining other equipment including 3d printers, laser cutters, and spray coating systems Minimum Requirements Knowledge of plant safety, environment and good maintenance practices Good understanding of equipment process control and plant operating aptitude High school education with above average math & communication skills In order to be considered for this position candidates are required to submit an application for employment through our career site and willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. Experience Requirements 3-5 years plant maintenance experience, certification or equivalent demonstration. Target Salary $28/hr to $32/hr Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to talk and/or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch and push or pull on objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will require the use of safety equipment and clothing, including eye and hearing protection, hard hats, and respiratory protection and safety shoes. Where noise levels exceed allowable limits, hearing protection is required and provided.
