Machine Operator I – Second Shift Location: 10210 Genetic Center Drive, San Diego, CA Schedule: Onsite | 2:15 PM – 10:45 PM Pay Rate: $18-20/hour Contract Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Job Summary The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating production equipment to meet established quality and quantity standards. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment is functioning properly, materials are handled correctly, and production areas are maintained in a clean and compliant state. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Operate production equipment in accordance with documented procedures. • Monitor equipment functions and report symptoms of equipment failures to technicians as needed. • Maintain and verify instrument and equipment calibration. • Ensure proper segregation and tracking of materials and lot/receiving numbers. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures. • Support material handling and other production-related tasks as necessary. • Comply with all company policies, including safety regulations, PPE requirements, SOPs, Work Instructions, Quality System Regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). • Perform other function-related activities as reasonably required by business needs. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds. • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moderate noise, and potentially hazardous chemicals. • Safety shoes compliant with site-specific policies must be worn in designated areas. Education & Experience • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. • Experience: 0–1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
