About IPSD Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary As aMachine Operator II, you will perform key duties associated with the CNC machining of our C13 cylinder heads for Caterpillar Diesel Engines. Reporting to Production Managers, you will be part of a dynamic operations team dedicated to high-quality production. What you will do: • Operate machining equipment to produce high-quality parts free of defects • Maintain records related to inventory, quality, defective parts, and equipment • Maintain a safe and clean workstation • Meet or exceed production standards as set by the company • Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives • Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions. • Communicate with supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals What you will have: • A minimum of 4 months’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment • Experience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Comfort working in cross-functional teams and contributing to problem-solving What would make you a top candidate: • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite • Certification in 3 or more relevant technical stations (or willingness to obtain) • Familiarity with Caterpillar’s safety standards and continuous improvement programs Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time • Ability to perform repetitive operations • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
