About the Role Firefly Earthworks is hiring a dependable Operator (Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm) to join our team in the Dallas area. This role is full-time from day one, brought on to meet our current project demands. After a few months, if workload continues and your performance meets expectations, there’s a strong possibility this position could become a permanent, long-term role. The pay will be determined on experience. You’ll be operating excavators and skid steers on a variety of earthwork and utility jobs. Candidates must be able to read plans, set grades using a laser level, and follow safety and maintenance procedures. A valid driver’s license is required. We’re looking for someone reliable, motivated, and ready to contribute to high-quality work in the field. Key Resposibilities • Safely and efficiently operate excavators and skid steers • Perform basic daily maintenance checks on equipment • Read and follow site plans, grades, and layouts • Use a laser level to establish proper elevations and grades • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite • Work closely with foremen and crew to complete tasks on schedule • Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures Requirements • 3+ years of experience operating excavators and skid steers • Proficient in reading site plans and using a laser level • Solid understanding of equipment safety and maintenance protocols • Valid driver’s license required • Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented • Able to work outdoors in various conditions • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus What We Offer • Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) • Full-time hours from day one • Opportunity to transition into a permanent position • Supportive, family-first team culture • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance (if hired permanently) • Respectful work environment where your skills are valued Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Vision insurance Experience: • Excavator: 3 years (Preferred) • skid steer : 3 years (Preferred) • laser level: 3 years (Preferred) • earthwork: 1 year (Preferred) • Underground utilities: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Dallas, TX 75215 (Preferred) Work Location: In person
