Job Description

The Machine Operator reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for the following tasks: • Operate and monitor machines related to Uniloy, Rosheleau, OMS, Aoki, Sidel, or Bekum. • Perform minor machine repairs and troubleshoot processing issues. • Conduct quality checks on products, including visual appearance, neck finish, and IDs, and make necessary adjustments. • Perform hourly leak detector checks and maintain accurate records (e.g., leak detector sheets, machine reports). • Check and adjust bottle weights according to machine and product specifications. • Inspect products at pack-off and correct any issues. • Train and assist utility workers, packers, and pullers as needed. • Monitor material levels in tote bins and ensure adequate supply. • Clean leader filters at least once per shift. • Adjust parison swing and chokes as required. • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and machines, including daily sweeping and mopping. • Assist with break relief for team members. • Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing operators regarding machine issues. • Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel. • Perform periodic tool cleaning and machine upkeep (e.g., cleaning, painting). • Execute changeovers for neck finishes, weights, mold changes, etc. • Work overtime or alternate shifts on short notice when required. • Perform any other duties as assigned to meet customer needs. Physical/Mental Demands • Stand and walk for extended periods. • Frequently squat, bend, stoop, sit, and stretch. • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. • Possess normal hearing and vision for documentation and communication. • Maintain correctable vision to operate forklifts and heavy equipment. • Work in non-ventilated or non-air-conditioned areas. • Demonstrate eye-hand coordination for machinery operation. • Exhibit full range of body motion, including manual dexterity and lifting.
