Machinist

The position associates must be knowledgeable on basic machine shop fundamentals to process final machining in various forms of weldment parts to product specifications. Pre hire knowledgeable and capability of drilling, tapping, and milling practices is essential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Operation of small machining center to large gantry, or double column centers. • Clean machined parts – deburring. • Inspect part for final prep work • Perform status check/set up • Check Operator messages and tool status • Organize parts to process • Clock-In / Clock-Out daily work orders job times without fail. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Non-Management Employees include: • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs. • Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program. • Ability to occasionally work a swing shift. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: • Supervisor KNOWLEDGE: • Candidate must have basic knowledge of and operation of 3 to 5 axis CNC Machine. • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, (impact wrench, grinding tools). • Candidate will be proficient with metric measuring instruments and system. • Candidate must have proficiency with use of test and dial indicators, calipers, precision square, and metal scale ruler. • Basic understanding/interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) • Proficiency with layout and set-up work area and components. • Ability to read and comprehend blue prints. • Basic understanding of materials and material properties • Ability to keep to schedule and standard time. • Okuma OSP, Fanuc, Siemens, Control knowledge a plus. SKILLS: • Basic CNC Machine operating skill or Manual Milling Machine operation experience. • Knowledgeable on CNC machining G-code and M-code • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics. • Understand machining tooling for the various types of machining processes. • Must possess excellent communication, problem solving, team interface and interpersonal skills PAY RANGE:$29.00-$33.00 LOCATION:La Mirada, CA SCHEDULE: • 4/10 • Monday - Thursday • 6:00am - 5:00pm MENTAL ABILITIES: • Ability to work harmoniously with others • Ability to accept and follow instruction • Ability to maintain positive attitude WORKING CONDITIONS: LIFTING: Average Weight: 25 lb.
