Job Summary: Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition documentation, layout plans, blueprints or other drawings | Prepares installation site by constructing foundations and aligns and fastens machinery to the foundation using hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, tools, squares, rules and micrometers | Performs operational tests on newly installed, modified, repaired and moved machinery and equipment to ensure that it meets technical specifications | Fabricates metal parts for prototype equipment based on drawings | Programs PLCs (programmable logic controllers) Impact of the Role:General Profile • Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines • Works with close supervision • Performs manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential Functions: • Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. • Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. • Required Qualifications: • • Required education and experience:Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperiencePreferred Qualifications: • • Preferred education and experience:Associate's Degree • Discipline/Major:Technical training preferred • Knowledge, skills & abilities:Mathematical skills. Technical expertise. Manual dexterity. Physical Stamina. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Leadership skills.Physical Requirements: • • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. • May need to stand for long periods of time. • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. • May be requested to work a different shift. • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required. • This position is Safety-Sensitive.Travel Requirements: No or very little travel likely. _____________________________: The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only. Pay Range (USD): Annual Min $41,811 - Annual Max $77,649 Pay Transparency Statement: The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process. Additional Compensation: Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
