Please visit our website at www.laser-ndt.comfor more information about our business, technology and client base. Summary LTC is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and be proficient in operating manual and CNC machining equipment. This role requires an independent Machinist with great attention to detail and the ability to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. This role will be responsible for producing and reworking high-quality parts which meet strict tolerance specifications. This role will also be vital in developing the LTC machine shop into a fully functioning production shop to increase our manufacturing capability and efficiency. Responsibilities β€’ Operate manual and CNC machines to produce low-volume production parts, making real-time adjustments for optimal performance. β€’ Utilize a manual Lathe and Mill to modify non-compliant components. β€’ Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to support production builds, including reworking parts and troubleshooting assembly challenges. β€’ Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes. β€’ Perform troubleshooting on machine issues. β€’ Specify new equipment and tooling. β€’ Specify and develop fixturing for machining precision parts with moderate complexity. Requirements β€’ 5+ years of experience operating manual machines in a manufacturing or R&D environment. β€’ Experience with operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) is a plus. β€’ Strong understanding of machining procedures, materials, and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) β€’ Good understanding of G-code and hand-editing code at the machine. β€’ Strict adherence to health and safety regulations and quality standards. β€’ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals. β€’ Strong Mathematical Skills β€’ Analytical skills β€’ Attention to detail β€’ Teamwork and communication skills β€’ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs β€’ High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus β€’ Familiarity with SolidWorks for interpreting designs is preferred.
