Location: United States, Canada (Ontario), (Prefers working in EST Hours)

Pay range: 100k-145k /Year.

Experience: 5+ years in development environment

Job Profile:

• H&W is seeking a Mainframe Software Developer with extensive experience and deep knowledge of the IBM mainframe environment. This person will assist in maintaining and improving our mainframe products.  They will support customers by answering questions and trouble shooting issues.  In addition, there will be knowledge sharing with other team members with the goal of building a stronger more diverse knowledge pool.  Developers participate in an on-call rotation which provides 24/7 customer support(once in a month) and report to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement product enhancements
• Diagnose technical issues and devise solutions
• Provide Technical Support to customers via email or telephone
• Participate in Quality Assurance testing as needed
• Assist sales personnel by addressing technical questions/issues posed by prospective customers
• Prepare technical and customer documentation for enhancements and fixes
• Stay abreast of current and emerging mainframe technologies
• Research new technologies for possible integration with products

Qualifications for success:

The ideal candidate for the role will possess the following characteristics:

• Robust IBM Assembler language skills
• In-depth knowledge of z/OS internals, interfaces, and services
• Expertise in VSAM internals, interfaces, and tuning
• Background in CICS/TS programming (API)
• Experience developing z/OS systems software
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter who can work effectively as a team member or independently and also could build a team in future.
