Mainframe Software Developer/Database Designer

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Provides advanced leadership on development concepts/issues/approaches
• Invests in mentoring staff beyond what the role requires
• Shares Subject-Matter-Expertise across EDA with incredible breadth/depth of experience
• Implements complex solutions making entirely independent technical decisions
• Handles intense workload gracefully juggling many projects simultaneously
• Manages unexpected issues within our project and our larger ecosystem (generously providing expertise to other teams who need assistance)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience working in a mainframe development environment (10+ years experience needed)
• Advanced experience in software development using Structured Query Language (10+ years experience needed)
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS (10+ years experience needed)
• Deep knowledge of relational database theory and database design
• Experience developing/deploying data warehouses
• Extensive experience synthesizing business requirements into technical designs
• Strong database-related skills such as building ER-models implementing ETL and job scheduling
• Understanding of the DevOps approach to software development/testing/deployment/maintenance
• Experience with the Agile approach to software development

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Characteristics of mainframes: CECs Engines MIPS Memory LPARs etc
• Characteristics of mainframe orders: order classification order features order revenue ship date etc
• Concept of mainframe configuration changes in the field
