Job Description

  • Systems programming experience in a mainframe environment. This role involves installation, configuration, tuning and ongoing maintenance of operating systems and ISV products.
  • SYSPLEX related skills
  • Understanding of VTAM and TCP/IP networking concepts, TCPIP understanding of Ports, Communications definitions of devices, Virtual IP Addressing, etc. SMTP
  • Understanding of z/OS and z/VM operating systems.
  • Experience with z/Architecture Mainframe hardware z13, z14, z15,z16
  • Experience with coupling facility
  • Experience in SMP/E
  • SMS understanding (not Storage related)
  • z/OS installation, configuration and administration.
  • z/VM installation, configuration and administration is a plus.
  • IODF/IOCDS/IOCP setup and configuration using HCD/HCM.
  • z/OS System Automation using IBM or ISV products ex: CA OPS/MVS, Net View
  • Knowledge in REXX, Utilities, Exit Routines.
  • JES2 commands,
  • zOSMF
  • Mainframe Security RACF, Vertel, RACF Certificates and Keyrings
  • ZFS understanding and process to identify and using established utilities to convert legacy HFS to ZFS
  • Experience with IBM/ISV Utilities, Tools ex: OMEGAMON/MAINVIEW
  • Installation and configuration of zWS scheduler
  • Installation and configuration of Changeman tool
  • Experience in z/OS connect and REST API management
  • Experience with Disk Storage products preferably DELL
  • Experience with Tape Storage products
  • Experience in storage management and tools DFHSM, FDR, TDMF, CA1, RMM, TSM, NetBackup.
  • Knowledge in VSAM file structure performance and ICF Catalog Management.
  • Unix Systems Services / Distributed files systems
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and conducting DR drills.
  • Configure WLM policies for optimal system performance.
  • Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
  • Takes ownership / responsibility for problems and proactively seeks solutions and shares those solutions with the team.
  • Provide 24/7 oncall support on a rotation basis with the team
