Maintenance & Custodian Associate
Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming grocery store environment by performing routine cleaning, monitoring supplies, supporting clients and events, addressing facility needs, and assisting with donations, while remaining flexible to work varied hours and perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
•
Maintain Cleanliness & Safety: Ensure the grocery store's interior and exterior areas are clean, safe, and presentable by performing daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces. Regularly clean windows, walls, and trash containers to uphold a hygienic environment for staff and customers.

Restroom & Supply Management: Conduct routine cleaning and restocking of restrooms throughout the day to maintain high standards of sanitation. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and replenish them as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Client Interaction & Support: Engage courteously and professionally with store clients and staff, offer assistance when appropriate and contribute to a welcoming and respectful atmosphere within the store.

Facility & Grounds Maintenance: Identify and report any facility-related issues or repair needs to the supervisor. Complete assigned work orders efficiently and safely. Support seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal, salting walkways, and maintaining landscaped areas around the store

Event & Donation Support: Prepare rooms and common areas for meetings or special events by arranging furniture as needed. Assist with transporting donations, including furniture, to designated locations when requested.

On occasion, may be required to work evening hours, weekends, and/or special events, as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

XAdditional Requirements: Job duties may need to be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to reach in all directions and climb a ladder, when needed.

Relevant Education:
Minimum:High School Diploma / GED

Relevant Experience:
Minimum: 1-2 years of janitorial or facilities-related experience
Preferred: 2-4 years of janitorial or facilities-related experience
Prior experience in cleaning, maintenance, or customer service is a plus
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional manner.
