Job Description
SUMMARY
Keeps premises of apartment community in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, trim, and pool furniture.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills. Washes entry and pool areas.
- Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs
- Cleans debris and snow from sidewalk. Ices as necessary.
- Assists maintenance and management as necessary to insure curb appeal.
- Delivers messages. Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
- Follows training instructions. Wears personal protective equipment as required for the job.
- Reports hazardous working conditions to supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
