Manager, Energy Supply

Where will you work: Regina, Saskatchewan

This position involves managing the sourcing, procurement, transportation, and delivery of natural gas and electricity to Mosaic facilities in North America. Responsibilities include acting as the main contact for gas supply partners, negotiating energy contracts, developing strategies for reliable and affordable energy supplies, and transitioning to clean energy solutions. The role also involves managing commercial relationships, participating in risk management, and handling data for budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, the position provides direct coverage for the Director of Energy Supply.

What you’ll do?

• Manage the procurement of physical gas supply for Mosaic sites through effective price and supply negotiations, through effective contract and credit negotiation, and through accurate and timely invoicing and payment processes to ensure the reliable delivery of natural gas to Mosaic sites at optimally minimum cost.

• Establish and sustain productive and positive working relationships with key personnel at gas suppliers, electrical utilities, pipeline utilities, hedging counterparties and regulatory bodies that reflect Mosaic's reputation for high standards of service quality, business conduct and ethics. Manage the energy regulatory affairs for Mosaic to ensure that natural gas and electricity costs are optimized, and future energy cost competitiveness is preserved.

• Manage natural gas transportation capacity, storage capacity planning and utilization, and spot supply purchase or sales to ensure reliable gas transportation logistics and optimize physical gas costs in North America. Advise and influence strategic direction for procuring and transporting natural gas to sites located in North America. Provide oversight to the sites with respect to gas pipeline and transmission infrastructure integrity and reliability and work with Mosaic capital/engineering teams as required to facilitate construction of new or expanded utility infrastructure.

• Enhance and maintain S & D and pricing model to support the corporate view and strategy development with respect to natural gas price risk, but also for other fuels as required. Collaborate with Energy Supply team members, supply chain management, North American business units, finance, and the Mosaic commodity risk committees as required on price risk, strategy, and forward pricing tactics for natural gas, electricity, current and future alternative fuels.

• Manage annual and long-term natural gas and electricity budget plan development support for the energy supply function. Work with sites on energy demand reduction projects. Coordinate with and provide energy related support to the Mosaic environmental, sustainability, and public relations teams. Provide coverage for the Director, Energy Supply.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 to10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the energy sector

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills, and proficiency in supply chain software.

• Familiarity with energy-related regulations and standards, experience with energy auditing and reporting, and the ability to develop and implement energy-efficient solutions.
