The Manager, Enterprise Data Solutions is responsible for managing multiple team members and projects, contributing to solution strategy with IT and business leadership, and oversight of day-to-day support in a cutting-edge, big-data, cloud-computing environment. The Manager must execute and drive strategy related to the data foundation of Finish Line/JD Sports and its application with Business Intelligence; including development & support of pipelines, ETL jobs and tools, data marts, data lake, data warehouse in multiple environments, and development within BI platforms. The Manager position partners with the Product Manager (PO) to understand business requirements (user stories), and develops solutions to meet business objectives. The Enterprise Data Solutions team is responsible for data from the production system to BI tools, including movement and transformation. This role reports to the Principal Engineer, Platforms and EDS. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Development of data in Business Intelligence (Looker) platform making it available for the business
• Provide oversight & support with respect to data solutions, systems analysis, application development, and implementation
• Ensure critical data is secured, trusted, relevant and accessible for enterprise use and data applications
• Lead a team of developers and analysts within their assigned areas of responsibility
• Engineer production ready solutions, inclusive of alerting and error handling
• Work with Cloud based tools (Google GCP, Big Query, Dataproc, Composer, Steamsets, Looker, etc.) to deliver best-in-class cloud based data solutions
• Work collaboratively with DBA team for operational execution and reliability of data solutions, both in Oracle, BigQuery, and BI software
• Work in Agile product management method, managing tasks & objectives (user stories) through JIRA and providing updates to SCRUM master
• Build relationships with Product Managers (PO) and company leaders to understand business requirements and priorities across multiple functional areas including Store Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Digital, Customer & Loyalty, Legal, & Data Science. Use output to guide roadmap and planning sessions
• Set priority with clear expectations and manage work for individual technical contributors
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in overall support and project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking work progress and providing regular updates to leadership
• Align goals, priorities and deliverables with the business functions and third-party vendors (where applicable)
• Research product development options and provide analysis for product direction ensuring company maintains the newest data capabilities
• Is a champion for data governance, data standards, and data use policies through documentation of data solutions in the data platform, through ERDs, Confluence documentation, or external tools
• Consult platform team on maintenance, performance, and best usage of the data platform
• Develop and execute training plan for company on the continual best usage of data platform
• Coach and develop. Instrumental in personnel development and career planning for teams and individuals
• Give, in the moment, candid, constructive feedback to grow associates
• Evaluate employee performance, set expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruit top talent, train staff, promote a culture of growth through positive team and associate development
• Other projects and duties as assigned

Required Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Information Systems or other related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 - 5 years of proven work ability in data analytics, data engineering, and process documentation required.
• 1-3 years supervisory or team lead experience, managing performance, setting goals for team/individuals and providing mentoring.
• Must have experience partnering with stakeholders of all levels of the organization to plan and solve problems.
• Project management experience, including: delivering implementation projects for new solutions in complex environments with many involved parties (technical disciplines, IT, software vendors, outsourcing partners etc.)
• Demonstrated expertise in the related IT technical domains
