Manager of Accounting

The Manager of Accounting is responsible for the supervision of finance staff, budget variance report analysis, Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) and preparation of budget financial reports with the support from other finance members. Report's directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Successful incumbents must meet rerquired deadlines with a high degree of accuracy along with strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience in a healthcare and/or not-for-profit environment is preferred. • Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. • Performs maintenance of General Ledger to make sure all the errors are corrected timely for the month-end close. Reviews of monthly financial ledgers of assigned accounts. • Reconciliation of the fixed asset ledger and ensures accurate account coding. • Prepares monthly allocation of expenses. • Maintenance of the intercompany transactions. • Prepares journal entries and reviews to ensure accuracy of figures. • Responsible for accurate posting of payroll and all related payroll benefits. • Assists with the Financial Results Package preparation and produces various analyses. • Maintains schedules for Prepaid and Accrued expenses. • Complete special projects/tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by the CFO. • Performs other related duties. • MBA in Accounting is required • 5 years of accounting experience in a not-for-profit healthcare setting • CPA license is helpful but not required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Benefits: • Health insurance Ability to Commute: • Mount Vernon, NY 10552 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Mount Vernon, NY 10552: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
