Position Overview: The Team This Manager, Podcasts position sits within the Publishing organization at Netflix, which includes Tudum.com, Podcasts and Tudum Magazine. Publishing at Netflix is all about connecting viewers with the stories they love, enhancing their experience, and driving engagement through innovative and immersive content. Our goal is to ignite the power of Netflix fans – our biggest ambassadors and the engines of buzz about our titles. By leveraging multiple distribution platforms and collaborating with creative minds across the globe. Netflix Podcasts extend the conversation around Netflix and fuel fandom, allowing us to own our audience's time and redirect them to the service for more viewing. The Role We are seeking a highly strategic and creative Manager to lead Publishing’s Podcasts team. This role will oversee Podcast production, and strategy, ensuring high-quality execution of title companion and always on slate podcasts that aligns with brand strategies, editorial priorities, and audience engagement opportunities across publishing platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, a data-driven decision-maker, and a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the strategic and production lead for Netflix Podcasts, developing compelling companion audio content that furthers the Netflix Publishing vision while engaging and exciting audiences. • Serve as a manager, mentor and leader for the Podcast team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence. • Oversee end-to-end audio production shaping the team’s work from ideation to publishing including strategy, research, development, production, post-production, distribution, and reporting. • Cross-functional lead across Netflix including Publishing, Marketing, Publicity, Social, and the Photo & AV Studio, to align audio strategies with larger company goals. • Leverage audience data and insights to optimize content performance, identify trends, and refine audio storytelling approaches. • Carve out new areas of opportunity for audio within the Publishing team, developing innovative content formats and partnerships. • Lead audio initiatives for tentpole projects, title campaigns, and high-profile content releases in collaboration with Publishing and Creative Studio leadership. • Manage all hired external agencies, technology partners, freelancers, and vendors to ensure high-quality audio execution that meets Netflix brand and production standards. • Responsible for staffing and infrastructure to work effectively across publishing as well as cross-functional teams. • Optimize team performance by implementing streamlined workflows, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and providing ongoing training, • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, exploring new formats, technologies, and storytelling methods to enhance Netflix’s podcast efforts. • Organize and lead cross-functional podcast meetings and reporting/cascades, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, and creative execution. • Lead by example, reflecting Netflix’s cultural values, and contribute to an environment of inclusion and excellence. • Embody Netflix’s ethos of 360-degree feedback, fostering a culture of giving and receiving feedback with an open mind and the assumption of good intention to build trust within the organization. Qualifications • 7-10 years of experience in podcast creation, or strategy within the tech or entertainment industries. • Proven ability to lead long-term strategy and short term production/execution across digital, social platforms. • Passion for entertainment, media, and the evolving landscape of digital storytelling. • Strong creative vision with a deep understanding of audience engagement and content performance analytics. • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and teams. • Highly organized, with the ability to manage teams, complex workflows, deadlines, and cross-functional projects. • A track record of innovation and experimentation in podcasting, with a strong point of view on emerging storytelling trends. • Passion for mentorship and coaching direct reports to improve their skillset and abilities, ultimately leading to business success for the organization. • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. • Strong network of audio production talent, agencies, and vendors. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $160,000 - $320,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
