Job Description
The Manager, Software Sales is responsible for successfully leading, managing, and growing a senior level software sales team for the HighQ and Doc Intel product lines in the Mid Law Market Segment. This position is accountable to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales and growth targets and to increase market share nationally. This position also ensures that the sales team is effectively trained, motivated, and coached to cover all assigned accounts and territories within the region.
About Role:
- Effectively manage software sales executives by balancing appropriate time in the field coaching and motivating team to achieve desired performance results
- Proven ability to manage within a matrix environment, collaborate across multiple departments and influence at all levels
- Lead through change and demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to changing business priorities, processes, and decisions
- Develop an annual operational business plan, informing the pathway to achieving results and directing the plans to grow revenues. The plan, which shall incorporate a competitive and market assessment and should be measured against standard performance metrics periodically throughout the year to ensure the team attain national sales and renewal quota for month, quarter, and year.
- Ensure team members are properly trained on product knowledge, sales process, contract writing, pricing, and overall Thomson Reuters policies and procedures
- Recruit and hire high quality sales candidates and ensure that all territories are fully staffed. Continue to maintain a robust pipeline and bench of quality candidates for future openings
- Work with product marketers, segment staff and product developers to provide input on legal and regulatory information products, services or solutions which allow our law firm customers to access & utilize our content & solutions more efficiently. Design and recommend special programs and promotions to maintain or stimulate growth for software product lines
- Foster and maintain positive and effective internal and external customer relationships. Assist in customer escalation issues and provide customer relationship support as needed
- Ensure all business dealings are handled professionally and ethically in accordance with established and accepted business practices. Support company processes and procedures and help to ensure the customers' experience is without compromise
About You:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4+ years in a successful sales management role
- This position requires regular travel to meet with team and customers
- Experience in software selling preferred
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of the legal market and legal technology market preferred

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states (CA, CO, CT, NV, WA) and/or remote. The target total cash compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $182,000 - $338,000. This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive. Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
