About the Role
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets. You will engage with the customer in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive these opportunities with healthy commercials to award.
What You Will Do
- Initiate sales plan, target and strategy to execute the pursuit strategy for new business opportunities in alignment with the customer account strategy.
- Actively seek to identify a new opportunity to trigger new pursuits by driving early engagement activities including “war gaming” and 10 standards
- Own RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and be responsible to lead a global team for the quote as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customer. Create game-changing unique selling proposition and value statements
- Own all Harman Sales Related Gates. STECCO, M Gates
- Own all Sales Forces related towards your customer
- Build 5 Year Sales Planning
- Understand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing) and define internal targets to meet them
- Identify key stakeholders and decision makers and develop strategies to win new business
- Customer engagement up to management level
- by mutual communication with customer
- Building/executing the customer-fit strategy
- Manage quote offer letter, NDA, MPA and other contracts
- Internal sales strategy meeting, work shop, battle plan. SEC, Auto one and other events in Harman global site
- Products demo at customer side
- CR, APR, pricing review, FX rate review
- Sample order, delivery, invoicing to customer and internal process
- Manage customer demand (forecast) with internal team
- Manage customer’s EDI like order, delivery, survey
- Regular executive customer and internal meeting
- Manage new customer code or supplier code
- Quarterly review of business and financial KPIs (BC)
- Harman Plant audit with customer
- Purchase OEM’s parts for internal benchmarking
- Make BCP with internal team and report to the customer
What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of related sales experience and at least 3 years in Automotive
- Basic automotive engineering skillset
- Thorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases and quotes / contracts
- Strong hunting and negotiation skills
- Strong English with effective communication and presentation skills
- Pro-active, Independent driver
- Strategic thinking
What is Nice to Have
- Understanding of Automotive OEM’s organization and processes
- Experience within or working with multiple J-OEMs
What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to travel up to 50%+, domestic and international travel
- Be willing to work in an [office, manufacturing facility, client-site} OR This role is eligible to work remotely full-time with occasional trips into the Nagoya/Ariake/Akihabara office location required (this could be on 24-hour notice)
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
