Summary of Job:
As a member of the commercial operations team, the Manager, Reporting will be responsible for helping the sales teams solve tactical operational roadblocks, such as improving the effectiveness of our Power BI reports and dashboards and leading projects to analyze and prioritize market opportunities. Additionally, they will assist in answering questions about sales forecasts, lead-to-close metrics, or territory analysis. They are comfortable with prioritizing multiple projects, switching between tactical and strategic thinking, extracting intelligence from data, and working with all levels of leadership.
The Manager, Reporting will work closely with the IC team and provide analytical support to our Marketing and Sales Groups. They will work across the key commercial functions to deliver data and reporting needs that help guide business decisions and support go-forward strategies. They will be responsible for managing sales and marketing KPIs through database management and incentive compensation administration. They must have an orientation toward ensuring integrity with respect to the quantitative analyses they execute and must be comfortable delivering reports and data in written and/or verbal formats. They must be confident in their ability to take charge, be a self-starter, and understand the value of offering the team they assist top-notch customer service.Â
Essential Functions:
- Gain expertise in the Business Intelligence system to summarize and share customer-level roll-up of sales and marketing opportunities.
- Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to report on the effectiveness of strategies and uncover potential strategic/tactical opportunities.
- Develop reports and manage data for Incentive Compensation and Marketing Campaigns
- Build and process all reports on monthly/weekly/annual reports for field/management/Executive Leadership/Board of Directors complete with trending, KPI metrics, and opportunity analysis for review by our Senior Leadership Team.
- Build dashboards with Business Intelligence tools to visualize key performance indicators for specific customers, products, and/or promotions. This will involve pulling data into an actionable/user-friendly format to provide metrics and KPIs that provide value to Commercial Leadership.
- Establish data integrity controls to ensure accuracy in support of data-driven decision-making by Senior Leadership.
- Bring structure to each request and translate those requirements into an analytic approach.
- Ad hoc reporting for sales data and other critical data sets.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product Marketing teams to compile, report, and analyze marketing’s impact on sales performance.
- Contribute to sales compensation planning and commission processing or reporting.
- Manage and support the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan by updating territory metrics frequently and updating the data into representative-facing applications.
- Engage with Marketing and Sales to understand each strategic initiative and corresponding data needs including Power BI-generated insights.
- Database Management – responsible for database queries, building controls, managing integrations, developing reports, and administration of sales data integrations with current data-mart.
- Manage sales team alignment including territory mapping.
- Provide direction to the sales team on alignments and areas for expansion/revision.
- Support the creation of targeting methodologies.
- Ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with Company values.
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
 Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries.
 Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills are a big plus.
- Experience in data visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView helpful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities
 Non-Technical Skills
- The ability to effectively communicate analysis results is required to identify issues and/or opportunities.
- Self-motivated professional with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving orientation
- The ability to function well in a fast-paced atmosphere while managing ongoing change
- Able to handle ambiguity and be willing to quickly shift directions and plans.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships quickly
