Job Description

As the Manager of Seaming Operations, you will support operations by expanding the skills of maintenance, operations, and quality associates who are part of the seaming operation at Conagra's 8 canning facilities. You will be accountable for deployment of preventative and operational maintenance programs to eliminate seaming losses which will result in step change improvement in plant performance. This position can be home based and will travel domestically up to 75%. No relocation is required - must live near a major airport within the United States. You will report to the Director of Seaming and Thermal Process Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintenance and execution of the corporate Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Program for seamer and associated processing equipment.
  • You will work with each plant Maintenance and Engineering team to implement Maintenance Protocols for seamers and associated processing equipment, support program metrics and targets, identify projects following World Class Maintenance practices, and track progress of metrics.
  • Lead data mining and trending activity to ensure consistency in seaming outcomes across the canning platform.
  • Evaluate and improve universal spare parts inventory for seaming assets.
  • Organize and facilitate training for Maintenance and quality personnel in both classroom settings with the facilitation of hands-on exercises and simulations and on the job training to include completion of seamer rebuilds, proper care and operation of the seamers and associated processing equipment.
  • Identify seam testing gaps and recommend training - internal or external - for assuring testing skills across all sites.
  • Provide emergency support and troubleshooting of seamers and associated processing equipment
  • Communicate with and engage the support of subject matter experts to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote awareness and education of food safety and quality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in packaging or a thermal processing manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of seamers and associated thermal process equipment
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance Technologies, such as Infrared, Vibration Analysis, and Non-Destructive Test Methods.
  • Attended or willing to attend Better Process School Experience developing training programs.
  • Have continuous improvement mindset
  • Travel up to 75% of the time.

Compensation:

Annual Salary: $118,000.00 - $142,000.00
