Join us as the Managing Director of Sales to lead our expansion in North America. This pivotal role within Thought Machine's AMER operations offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead our regional strategy. As Managing Director, you will oversee a team of Sales Directors and Sales Engineers, playing a hands-on role in sales activities, managing large-scale contracts, and driving the local team's success.

Duties:

  • Provide operational leadership across all functions in the AMER region
  • Build, recruit, and nurture a high-performing team spanning Sales, Commercial, Finance & Operations, and Client Services
  • Foster a strong local culture and team spirit within our AMER region
  • Lead deep contract negotiations and ensure alignment with company strategy
  • Develop and expand our market proposition across North America
  • Cultivate relationships with executive sponsors, influencers, and decision-makers to support sales targets
  • Enable the sales team to surpass annual regional targets for software licensing and professional services contracts
  • Establish credibility by engaging directly with clients during key stages of the sales process

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience
  • Proven track record exceeding enterprise software sales targets in North America, ideally within large corporations or scaleups
  • High energy, gravitas, and enthusiasm are essential for leading and inspiring teams
  • Extensive network within the banking industry
  • Recognised for advisory skills, delivering solutions that drive tangible value
  • Expertise in banking procurement processes and enterprise platform sales lifecycle
  • Deep understanding of challenges facing retail banks in North America, including technological, regulatory, and commercial pressures
  • Ability to influence C-suite decision-makers both externally and internally

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience with cloud infrastructure technology
  • Consultative sales experience within the retail banking sector

Salary Guide: $200,000 - $300,000 (dependent on experience) + commission
