Manual Lathe Machinist (Day shift)

This is an mid to high level manual machinist position in a climate controlled facility. Company Overview: We are a certified FAA Part 145 Repair Station specializing in the overhaul and repair of aircraft engine components, serving major aerospace clients. Our facility performs precision restoration of high-value components through processes like machining, shot peening, plating, and more. We're currently looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join our day shift team and support our mission to deliver safe, airworthy parts on time and to spec. Position Summary: The Manual Machinist will operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to restore and finish aircraft engine components per OEM and FAA repair standards. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precise, high-tolerance work and is comfortable working in a regulated aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities: • Ability to work within .0003” tolerances. • Set up and operate manual equipment (lathes, mills, OD/ID grinders, etc.) to perform machining on a variety of aerospace components. • Restore critical dimensions on parts such as shafts, housings, and other rotating components. • Work from blueprints, process sheets, and verbal instructions with minimal supervision. • Measure and inspect work using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges to ensure tight tolerances are met. • Document work according to FAA and internal quality procedures. • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition. Requirements: • Minimum 3 years of experience in manual machining, preferably in an aerospace environment. • Proficiency with blueprint reading and dimensional inspection tools. • Ability to hold close tolerances. • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • U.S. Person status required (citizen or permanent resident) per ITAR compliance. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience with FAA Repair Station practices or aviation MRO work. • Familiarity with component restoration techniques like chrome removal, blending, or surface prep.
