In this hands-on position, you'll not only set up and operate a wide range of manual machines-such as lathes, grinders, drills, and presses-but also ensure quality by performing in-process inspections and utilizing advanced tools like CMM. As a certified operator, your expertise in machinist and grinding duties will directly impact production efficiency and precision. Additionally, you'll take on key responsibilities like machine maintenance, part handling, and providing leadership to the Machining Module Support Tech. Your ability to manage both technical tasks and support functions will be integral to our success.

This is a second shift position: 3 PM - 11:30PM. Training will be on first shift.

What You Will Do

• Obtains necessary stock, fixtures, tooling and gaging
• Sets-up other manual machines for other classifications to operate
• Sets up & Operates manual machines necessary to produce module parts. For example (Not all inclusive):
• Lathes, grinders, jig bore
• Drills, radial drill, presses, saws
• Performs machinist duties Performs ID/OD grinder duties
• Performs in-process inspection as a certified operator
• Performs CMM and other required inspection
• May be assigned to support functions such as:
• Deburr, Tumble, Part Mark
• Performs computer transactions
• Moves parts to, from, within module
• Cleans machines
• General housekeeping
• Provides direction to Machining Module Support Tech

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably technical school background.
• Basic educational competencies (reading, writing).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Blueprint and routing reading and comprehension
• Use of hand tools and experienced with measuring equipment
• Basic Computer skills such as log on, data entry and retrieval
• Obtain certifications and qualifications required to perform job
• Experience as a machinist

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is $28.60/hr. The salary rate provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
