Marine Electrician

Job Title:Marine Electrician Employment Type:Full-Time Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of electrical systems on marine vessels. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical circuits of all levels. • Work with 3-phase motors, generators, and switchboards. • Install and maintain motor starters and start/stop systems. • Service steering systems, alarms, and automation equipment. • Maintain and repair grounding systems and lighting fixtures. • Use multimeters, ammeters, and meggers for testing and diagnostics. • Terminate common types of electrical equipment and read all types of electrical prints. • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to pumps. • Supervise and train junior electricians (Tech Level III). • Assist in managing assigned projects. • Participate in on-call rotation for seven-day periods. • Travel occasionally to other work locations as needed. • Follow all company safety and operational policies. • Perform any additional duties as directed by management. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a marine or industrial electrician. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems on marine vessels. • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and prints. • Proficient with testing and diagnostic tools including multimeter, ammeter, and megger. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to supervise and train others effectively. • Flexibility to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
