Job Description
Manage proposal activities for the Power Transformer opportunities in assigned region. Translate design requirements from customer specifications and coordinate completion of pricing and quotations for each opportunity. Manage sales funnel within region, and identify key actions required to drive orders.
Typical duties/responsibilities for marketing may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Tender Design and Support
- Review Customer RFQ Spec, and identify any issues that require follow-up with Sales
- For Must Win Opportunities; insure proposal is in line with Must Win strategy and goals
- Set schedule and milestones for proposal. If schedule is outside Customer's requirement follow-up with Sales to request extension.
- Within SFDC, create Nextra item and provide link to proposal engineering.
- Provide weights and final location to logistics
- Provide T&C's to supply unit

Pricing and Quotation
- Develop final pricing and packaging of all cost and data to complete bid.
- Manage: Risk Review, credit checks, bond requirements, insurance certificates, quality questionnaires,
- Create Customer final proposal using standard templates. Insure Hitachi Energy's value is clearly communicated in Customer terms.
- Quotation letter, and manage receipt of all appropriate approvals per TOA
- Order Negotiation and Closing
- Respond to commercial issues and customer clarifications via the Business Development Manager.
- Contract Review/Order Handoff
- Call the Meeting develops all contract documents and check lists for order hand off.
Opportunity Pursuits and Tender Support:
- Identify Must Win opportunities and coordinate with Sales Mgt. and Marketing Director
- Communicate Customer project requirements to Proposal Mgt.
- Identify commercial risks based on design and proposal
- Track and report opportunity status and support as necessary to close.
- Manage Sales Funnel within their responsible area
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS:
Requires the ability to manage and understand transformer specification requirements. Requires ability to manage relationships with front end sales and customer contacts. Requires the ability to give technical presentations on product. Requires time management skills and balancing of multiple priorities. Requires the ability to work within a matrix organization and team leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience.
- Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
