Job Description
Harbor seeks a Media Cataloger for a world-renowned media/entertainment organization. The position is embedded within the client project eco-system and will be primarily responsible for creating, checking, updating, etc. media asset metadata and inventory information within a number of discreet client databases. This is a full-time, benefitted, Harbor staff position that can be location-agnostic in the US or Canada but synchronized; as needed; to the timelines and business needs from our client’s primary location (EST). This position requires good organizational skills, data entry skills and a strong attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use various media archive software tools as well as proprietary Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to review, edit and enter media asset metadata
- Perform consistent, accurate and complete data entry to complex asset inventory and media content
- Research information in support of data entry tasks in order to confirm information (as needed) and also expand on the completeness of the data record
- Communicate and work in a coordinated manner within a larger client project team to meet team project goals and specific assignments
- Identify problems and obstacles, escalate as needed and participate in problem resolution as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience with media, media management and metadata or related experience
- Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work independently and be able to collaborate with other team members and the overall organization to consistently achieve quality and delivery standards
- Must be computer proficient and have good data entry skills (speed and accuracy)
- Familiarity with digital media asset tools, workflows, and technologies helpful as well as media library experience
- Creative problem solver with excellent organizational, productivity accounting, analytical and reporting skills
- Good quality control and visual detail skills with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and writing skills. Must be capable of effectively communicating with client stakeholders, partners and project team members
- Computer proficient and knowledge / familiarity with media content production and workflows
- Understanding of the challenges and opportunities of content monetization, content licensing and accessibility
